Karel Appel (1921–2006) was a Dutch artist and key member of the CoBrA movement, an avant-garde group formed in post-WWII Europe. Named after Copenhagen, Brussels, and Amsterdam, CoBrA embraced spontaneous, intuitive creation and rejected traditional artistic conventions. See below an impression of Karel Appel’s works.
