Jean-Michel Lengrand – Leda’s Dream
Museum-quality giclée of Jean-Michel Lengrand’s Leda’s Dream (2003), beautifully framed (8″x10″).
Description
Jean-Michel Lengrand’s Leda’s Dream (2003) depicts a classical, armless statue of a woman amidst grand arches and a dreamlike, checkerboard floor, with a serene landscape and a mysterious, partially obscured figure in the foreground. The composition blends ancient architectural elements with surreal, imaginative scenery, evoking a poetic and enigmatic mood.
The text written by Jean-Michel Lengrand for Leda’s Dream:
That’s a work realized when I was young in 1978.
The painting has been sold in that time and came back to me after almost forty years, after a heritage. The model is my wife Dominique.
The theme of Leda visited by Zeus under the appearance of a swan is a subject presented by Leonard de Vinci, as well Rubens, Picasso or Dali.
Here the embrace is just suggested, only appear the fathers of the bird, and the scene is presented as a ream.
The water place with the statue of Venus in background remembers the love context of the situation.
