Description
Jean-Michel Lengrand’s Fables and Tales (2005) depicts a vivid and imaginative gathering of various fables and talesd. With references to classical and modern fables and tales, and a dreamlike landscape in the background, the work blends tradition, modernity, and surreal storytelling in Lengrand’s signature style.
Excerpt of a tex written by Jean-Michel Lengrand about the work:
As wrote Baudelaire, “we live in a forest of symbols”.
It is this forest that will cross the group of our characters, and we can see, looking to the face of the trees, that it will not be easy.
However, there is no other way, the mountains don’t permit another way to these characters who have peopled our childhood, and who will permit to the children to became adults.
